Muriel Vega Perez, the chief makeup artist of PAC by Martha Talaar, and PAC organized an exclusive makeup workshop. It is in contest form where people who wants to join will post a status on Facebook about the workshop or repost the picture in Instagram. Well, I did both and was lucky enough to win again on Muriel Vega Perez' contest.
The exclusive workshop held last Wednesday, January 29,2014, at PAC Head Office at Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City. It was at 2pm but the registration started at 1:30, and I came at around 1:40 and I am the 2nd one who arrived. Some are late because of the accident at Magallanes, EDSA.
The picture above is the set up of some PAC makeup products and even skin care. These are the products the makeup artist used in the demo. PAC makeup products are all organic, highly pigmented and can be used in differently. The downside of this is that PAC is slightly overpriced as MAC but their products is with high quality.
The workshop started with an introduction of the brand by their marketing officer and then introduced us to Muriel Vega Perez. He taught us about prepping the skin, application techniques and so much more. He is very bubbly and I never got bored while he's teaching, even though some of the things he taught I already heard from the previous workshops I've been to. We learned a lot while having fun and it was a never ending laughter workshop.
Here is the finished day to night makeup by Muriel Vega Perez on the beautiful model, Clay. After the demo, he asked us to create a look inspired of what he already created. All of us were busy doing our makeup without makeup brushes (as seen below) because he thought that brushes will be provided in the workshop, but we should have brought our own.
Finishing the our makeup, he decided who won and it wasn't me but a soon to be married participant won because of the technique she used. She had layering of eyeliner going on her eyes, which is gold and black. She also won a freebie from PAC.
Unfortunately, I failed to grab the chance of taking a photo with Muriel Vega Perez but here's what I did on myself.
I just noticed that I almost always do the same makeup look on me after every workshop but I do apply different techniques. And I can say that I am proud of my finished look since I didn't have any brushes with me and I only used my fingers and cotton buds. I am not pretty sure about what products I used except all products are form PAC, of course, and for the eyeliner I used the color Terra Brown.
I hope they will have advance makeup workshop soon. :)

The makeup workshop is super basic for me that even people who doesn't have any background on makeup will understand it but for me it is not that interesting anymore. But I am excited for the advance makeup workshop. Also, we used Collections Cosmetics during the workshop. They are one of their sponsors. I was so happy that I got to try their products.
At the end of the workshop, I am in a hurry to go home and I went to sleep right away that I didn't take my after photo. But over all, I learned a lot and I was super happy with what I took home.
Join the next makeup workshop and I am sure you'll enjoy and learn a lot from it.
BCK or Beauty Crafts by Kiran is a makeup studio that offers Makeup and Hair styling workshop for every makeup enthusiast or anyone who likes to learn the skill. I discovered them when I was browsing through Be Economic deal site, which is under Groupon, for makeup workshops or school. I bought their basic makeup workshop for only PHP700+, which is originally PHP1,500.
I didn't expect anything because it was the first makeup workshop that I attended. The first thing I noticed in the table is the handout and next thing that got me shocked is that the makeup brushes that we will use in the workshop are not clean. But the palette, powder puff and sponge is new. Also, the studio is beautiful, a little bit cold and very bright.
As for the workshop itself, I had a lot of fun. Miss Kim is very energetic and bubbly that the time flies and none of us got bored in the workshop. She explained thoroughly every step in applying makeup and she kept asking us if we have and questions about what she is teaching. She is very informative and very approachable. We kept asking her what makeup brands is good in terms of high end and drugstore makeup brands. I really learned a lot during the workshop.
The makeup workshop is inclusive of 5 hours of basic makeup workshop, handout, use of makeup and tools, photoshoot and certificate.
I learned the right method in doing makeup. I also learned the do's and don'ts in choosing and applying makeup. It definitely enhanced my skills.I will definitely go to her advance makeup workshop and even the hair styling as well.
Here is the makeup look I did to myself during the makeup workshop, a neautral day makeup look:
Here is the list of my 2013 beauty favorites that I kept using non stop last year. :)
I also have a video on this:
I have some skin care favorites that really suits my skin type, which is dry to combination skin. Mostly, I have been loving Celeteque DermoScience skin care products especially their Hydration line.
First is the Celeteque Hydration Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash with Dual Vitamin Nourishing Beads. This product removed the dryness in my face especially the dry patches going on on my cheek area. I don't know what exactly the beads are doing but I think it helped turn my super dry skin to a normal type one. This is definitely my all time favorite facial wash. I always go back to this when I try different facial washes.
Next, is the Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic. Well, I have visible pores on my nose and in the inner part of my cheeks that I hate so I tried this product. At first, when you apply it with a cotton I felt a little tingle on my nose area where I feel that my pores are closing up.
For moisturizing my face, the only moisturizer that suits my skin type best is the Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer with Triple Moisturizing System. It doesn't make me feel like a grease ball, not like other moisturizer in the market. It is a gel type, which is also suitable for normal, combination and oily skin.
100% Aloe Vera Gel is somewhat hard to find here in the Philippines until I found out that Landmark offers Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun Gel. It is not 100% Aloe Vera Gel but it is affordable so it's a plus. It helps soothing and cooling my skin when I went out on the sun. It is also a good makeup base and I also used this in my DIY setting spray.
Hydrating is important for dry skin type, so I further moisturize my skin with the Apollo Pure Petroleum Jelly Protectant. I use this around my eyes because I have dryness there and also to my lips at night before I go to sleep. Then when I wake up, I have a baby smooth skin.
For makeup products, I have not really a lot but here are they:
The Face Shop Power Perfection BB Cream. The first and the best BB cream I have ever tried, and I tried a lot. This lives up to the name BB cream well since it made my skin hydrated and still makes my skin looking nice even when I am not wearing it anymore. The downside of it is that it doesn't have much shades available but it does oxidize.
One of the best foundation I've tried is the L'Oreal True Match Super Buildable Foundation in N4. First is that it have a wide range of shades and they have shades with cool, warm and neautral undertone. It is also a foundation that you can sheer down or build up to full coverage. Also, some makeup artists use this foundation and swear by this. Further more, it is somewhat affordable since it is a drugstore makeup.
Hands down, this product can make you look flawless, it is the Maybelline All-in-One Shine Free Cake Powder in Sand Beige. I sometimes use it to set my foundation or BB cream, sometimes I use it alone and it always look nice. The only thing is that it look somewhat cakey, duh it is a cake foundation. Another downside is that it doesn't have much shade. Their darkest one is still too light for me but still I love it.
I can say that I am a concealaholic. I don't have acne marks or something but I love to conceal my under eye area to remove my dark circles. This Elianto Creamy Concealer in Natural does its job of hiding that area. It is creamy and thick that really does its job of concealing the imperfections.
If I have to pick just one makeup favorite for the year it is definitely the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. It is just available in one shade but it suits all skin tones since it is very buildable. I always use this since I got it, which is was in March 2013, and I still have half of it left. I just love this product and I hope I can find a much affordable bronzer that can do the job like this one.
I started filling up my eyebrows early last year and I kept using the E.L.F. Eyebrow Kit since it has a wax and a powder, and also a tiny eyeliner brush that comes with the kit. Moreover, it is much affordable than other eyebrow kit and it looks sophisticated than other affordable kits. I just love it and it does it job quite well for a drugstore brand.
I am not a fan of makeup kits but I love the Revlon Colors in Bloom Makeup Palette. It is not that heavy, it has a sophisticated packaging with a large mirror, it has 5 super lustrous lipsticks, 5 color stay 12-hour eye shadows and 2 powder blushes. All of those are very much pigmented, and it comes with a brush too.
I love the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils and 2 of my favorites are Milk and Dark Brown. I use the white one on my lower waterline to make my eyes look bigger and more awake and I also use it as an eye shadow base to make the color of the eye shadow that I am putting on to pop. The dark brown one is more versatile as I can use it to fill in my brows, contour my nose, crease and face, and I also use i as an eye shadow base as well.
The best mascara I tried last year is the Benefit They're Real Mascara. It is not waterproof though but it gives out great results! My lashes are not that long bu it really makes my lashes looking like falsies that even my family and friends asked me if it is real. I just love it.
I keep it neutral when it come to my everyday or go to lip color. One of my favorite is the MAC Amplified Lipstick in Fast Play. It is just my lips but better color of lipstick. It glides on my lips smoothly, it is easy to apply, doesn't bleed, doesn't chap my lips, but it doesn't really last long on my lips.
Another lipstick that I loved was the NYX Round Lipstick in B52. It's not really a better than my lips color but it is a pinkish one and it made me look a little bit younger and sweet. It glides on smoothly as well but the scent of it somewhat disturbs me but it is tolerable. This was my everyday lipstick when I was still in college.
As for brushes, I love the Artist Studio Brushes for the year 2013. First and foremost, they are so affordable for less than PhP150 for face brushes and less than PhP50 for eye brushes. The only thing is, they are only affordable at Landmark, which are at Makati and Trinoma only. I love them because they're affordable and they really do their jobs very well. I have them for a year now and they don't have hair falls even after deep cleaning them. I highly recommend these brushes if you are in a budget.
I have perfume or cologne favorites to for the year 2013!
My everyday scent early half of the year of 2013 is the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Scent Spray. I am not a fan of green tea in general but I super love this scent and even my classmates bought one for themselves.
The body mist I used when I was in High School and the one I got back to on the second half of the year 2013 is the Victoria Secret Love Spell Fragrance Mist. Almost every girl love this scent and this has been the scent I am known for.
The perfume I wear when I have a special event or something like that is the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur. My mom gave me the gift set of the Viva La Juicy and I love this one. It gone now and I wish to have the full size one. It is a floral scent, which is not smells like for old people. It is suitable for teens and older women just fine.
That is about it with the beauty products that I loved last year. I hope you love it and got some information as if I did a short review for every product.
Thank you for reading!
