My May 2015 Beauty Picks! ♥

For the month of May, I didn't experiment much on makeup. I used almost the same makeup that I used before. But I still have favorites for May and here it is:

  1. JULIA Traditional Foundation Brush. This one is from Landmark and it cost between PHP90-150. I don't remember the exact amount since I owned this for about 2 years now. For that long, it didn't shed and the glue on the handle is very much intact. I love this one because it is a dense foundation brush that doesn't leave too much streaks on my face. Plus, it's very soft.
  2. REAL TECHNIQUES Contour Brush. I did use it for contouring before I found out that it can be used for highlighting/setting my under eye area with a powder of course. It fits perfectly on my under eye area and eye lids.
  3. MAYBELLINE GEL EYELINER in BLACKEST BLACK. It's a long lasting jet black eyeliner that is smudge-proof, waterproof and it doesn't fade. Plus it doesn't dry out quickly in the container. Do I need to say more?
  4. FASHION 21 DEFINING LIP LINER. I'm not sure about the shade of this one but it is a pinkish MLBB. It is an affordable lip liner that does it's job of lengthening the stay of lipstick on the lips. And it's only PHP100!

That's everything for my favorites this month. What are yours?

April 2015 Beauty Picks! ♥

Hello beautiful people! I haven't blogged about my favorites for a really long time, so I am back! If you are subscribed to my YouTube channel, then you already watched (yes, I am assuming lol) my video about this:

But if you can't understand my native language, which is Tagalog/Filipino, this blog is like a translation for you. Starting of, here's a photo of my favorites that I posted in my Instagram account @eliciaMUA...

First in my favorites list is the BB cream I use almost everyday for a couple of months already. It is a lightweight BB cream that is not too liquidy and not too creamy. For me it is the perfect consistency that is good for both dry and oily skin. The coverage can be sheered out and buildable too. The only thing is that it has only 2 shades available, which do not caters every skin tone.

Pond's BB Cream in Beige

Next makeup favorite is a powder foundation from Virginia Olsen and my shade is Goddess. I love the shade name! And the shades suits me pretty well. A tiny bit darker but is perfect when I use a lighter foundation. The foundation is buildable and lightweight plus it doesn't irritate my skin when I have allergies on my face.

Another powder is the K-Palette Zero Teka Matt Powder. Not sure of the shade though but this one is more on the translucent side. It just mattifies my face for a longer time than most powders in the market. This one is super light weight. I use this when I don't want to wear any foundation, bb cream or concealer; I just look matte and fresh when I use this.

The next 4 favorites of mine are lipsticks. And yes, I am obsessed with lipsticks!

The first one is a pink lipstick, which is NYX Round Lipstick in Spell Bound. I love this shade of pink and it is very cheap. Totally cheap that I totally forgot about it for a long time but now it's in my favorites. It is creamy and very easy to apply on my lips. But of course there are down sides. First is has an old makeup scent which is bothering me and it is super creamy that it only takes 2 hours or less to get off my lips.

Another pink lipstick on my faves list is MAC Amplified Creme lipstick in Chatterbox. This one a bright pink that doesn't wash my lips out. It's a bit subtle than MAC's Viva Glam Nicki, which is nice. It think it looks fine on me and I've used it for 3 days straight and no one told me I look silly.

The last and the next 2 lipsticks are from the Color Riche collection of L'Oreal. The first one is Pearly Wild Tango, a reddish orange creamy lipstick. It is somewhat a glossy type lipstick (well both of them are) that is very suitable for summer. It doesn't last too long but the stain it leaves is amazing. It looks like I just drank strawberry juice, which is very summer appropriate.

The last one is a subtle purple lipstick, which is Rose Bud. I love purple lipsticks and this one made me rock one every single day. It's not long lasting either but the stain looks like just bitten. The stain is magenta and it's good for people who doesn't want purple lipsticks.

So what are your favorites for the month of April? ♥

Girls Night Out Makeup of the Night ♥

It was one of my super close friend's birthday and we celebrated it by partying on the 2nd Saturday of the year. We went to Valkyrie, one the the newest opened clubs in the Philippines.

Of course, the best part is putting on makeup and dressing up...
...but one of the hardest decision is what lipstick to wear.

Here are the products I used:

  1. First things first, of course is primer and I used my all time favorite Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser.
  2. Then I put a bit of corrector, an orange corrector from Suesh.
  3. To even out my skin tone, I chose a long lasting foundation that doesn't transfer, which is the Rimmel Long Lasting Foundation.
  4. My eyebags needs to be treated so I swiped some Garnier BB Eye Roll On and blend that in.
  5. Setting the makeup with powder is a must to prevent creasing. Fashion 21 Loose Powder makes my skin look uber flawless.
  6. Highlight and contouring the face is the best way to make the face look skinnier and look chiseled in a cheaper way. I used a generic highlight and contour powder from Makeup Design Academy.
  7. For my brows, I always use the Sleek Brow Kit in Dark to have that bold and defined brows.
  8. I primed my eyes with Maybelline Tattoo Eyeshadow in Nude Compliment to help the eyeshadow stick.
  9. For the eyeshadows I mixed Urban Decay Naked 2 and MUA Cosmetics in Going For Gold.

MUA Going For Gold Shade 8 on the center of the lid.
MUA Going For Gold Shade 7 on the inner corners.
UD Naked 2 Busted on the outer v and crease.
UD Naked 2 Foxy on the brow bone.
MUA Going For Gold Shade 7 on the inner lower lash line.
UD Naked 2 Busted on the outer lower lash line.

   10. Cat eye is a must and I used Maybelline Studio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. I also tight line with the same product.
   11. Curl lashes and apply Benefit They're Real Mascara.
   12. To add a bit of color on my face I added Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Blusher in Mellow Wine on my cheek bones.
   13. Lastly is the lips and I went for a bold one with Wet 'n Wild Megalast Lip Color in Cherry Bomb.

Here are my thoughts for these palettes:

PROS:
Z-Palette dupe
Bigger than Z-Palette
Cheaper than Z-Palette (PHP741 - PHP1,280) *Price from Luxola
Local brand
Comes with free magnetic stickers
The transparent on top of the professional palette where you can see what are inside.
The personal palette comes with a mirror. Very handy!
Not bulky and can save a lot of space.
Sturdy

CONS:
Made with paper material that is not very durable.
Limited color selections.

If you ask me if it is worth the price, yes it is. Would I recommend it? Honestly, I have to say I am 60-40% on that one. If you don't need it, then don't. It is not a necessity to every makeup lovers. But if you need to save a lot of space and want to have a handy palette, then buy one.

Here's what I placed on my personal palette:
Powder, Blush, Contour and Brow Powder.

I am thinking of adding some neautral eyeshadows. What do you guys think?
