#30daysofbeauty Day 7: SKIN CARE

This is the part where we should take seriously. Applying makeup on a bad skin will just make it worst. Moreover, we should be confident with our own skin even without makup. My skin care is just simple. I have dry to normal skin and my skin care consist of mostly for hydration.

For facial wash, toner and moisturizer, I use the hydration line of Celeteque. It suits my skin type perfectly. To lessen my visible pores on my nose and cheeks, I use Kiehl's Rare Eath Pore Defining Tonic and its lotion equivalent. Then to prevent wrinkles and dark circles, I massage The Seam Gem Miracle Cutting V 10c lifting serum around the eye. It is a brand from Korea and I'm not sure if it is available here in the Philippines.

That is my simple skin care routine. If you want to be updated with my posts about #30daysofbeauty, go ahead and follow me on Instagram @ixadevera. Thank you!

#30daysofbeauty Day 6: BRUSHES

I still haven't collected much brushes in my collection. All of the brushes I have are very affordable, like one brush costs around PhP100 only but they have good quality and they do their jobs quite well. Here are the brushes I posted in my Instagram account for this challenge.

On the left side are the brushes I used most of the time on myself. These are just random brushes, which are from Le Coix - a brush set that I bought from Sasa in Hong Kong, E.L.F. Cosmetics, L.A. Girl, Marionnaud, and brushes from Landmark.

The right can contains the brushes I use when I do my mom and sister's makeup. These are all Artist Studio Brushes from Landmark. I rarely use them on myself, just when I need an extra brush. I don't really like using makeup and brushes the same as what I use to others.

#30daysofbeauty Day 5: DAY MAKEUP LOOK

I don't go all out when I do my day makeup look. Well, it depends on where I am going. I don't wear foundation and eyeshadows when I just have to run errands, but when I have something important to go I do wear them. Here's a simple day makeup look that I made for this:

More often than not, I use my UD Naked Basics for my eye makeup for special occassions, but for this look I went for affordable makeup. Here is the list of makeup products I used for this look:

FACE:
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation in Champagne
Garnier BB Eye Roll On
Chiffon Powder Foundation in Natural
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Sephora Cream Blush in Rose Glow

EYEBROWS:
Fashion 21 Duo Eye Enhancer in Dark Copper
Nichido Clear Brow Mascara

EYES:
Aziza Cream Eyeshadow
San San Single Eyeshadow in Charcoal Brown
San San Single Eyeshadow in Deep Earth Brown
San San Single Eyeshadow in Cotton Candy Pink
ELF Liquid Eyeliner in Coffee
Careline Color Pencil in Brown
Benefit They're Real Mascara

LIPS:
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

That's everything I used for this look. To be updated on my #30daysofbeauty posts, follow me on Instagram @ixadevera. Thank you!

#30daysofbeauty Day 4: HAIR STYLE

This is the part where I don't spend much time on. I don't usually style my hair. I just let it air dry while I'm doing my makeup most of the time. When I have extra time or whenever I feel like it, I do blow dry it but not style it. My hair is in between straight and waivy. I had my hair rebonded a few year back but I chopped it off last year. The only thing that is chemically done on my hair at the moment is its color.

When I was in elementary and highschool, my hair is always in a ponytail. I was so insecure with my hair because it's big and waivy. Then when I entered college, I learnt how to love my hair and just let it down. I cut it off chin length and now I am growing it out and I aim to have it waist length.

#30daysofbeauty Day 3: NAILS

I decided to paint my nails today for the sake of the #30daysofbeauty. I wasn't used to painting my nails because I was a varsity player when I was in high school and college. I always make sure that my nails are cut short, and painting my nails was a no go for me since it would chip right away because of trainings. Nearing the end of my college years I was fund of painting my nails most often than not and I learned how to grow my nails without breaking them off. I would normally go for mostly blue hue nail polishes before but now I go for nudish polishes.

For this day I coated my nails with my favorite Wet 'n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color in Private Viewing. It is a nudish pink tone and it really does last for about 5 or more days if you are careful. As for the accent nails, I added a sheer purple polish and added some glitters. Having an accent nail is like putting the star on top of a Christmas Tree. It makes the nails more appealing.

The only thing I didn't like about this nail polish is that it is so sheer. I have to put 2-3 coats to make it pop. Unlike other polishes or even the other colors of this type of nail polish are very opaque that even one coat it is already there and visible.

I do recommend this product since it does last for a long time. I have a review of this in my blog. Here's the link: http://makeupbyixa.blogspot.com/2013/11/wet-n-wild-mega-last-nail-color-in-on.html

#30daysofbeauty Day 2: DAILY MAKEUP PRODUCTS

Here I have the makeup products I use on a daily basis, not really daily but in times when I go out.

Makeup Products breakdown:

MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN PORE ERASER - it does make my pores less visible and I feel that when I don't wear this, there is something missing.
GARNIER BB EYE ROLL ON - I love how it feels when I roll it on my under eye, it is refreshing. I also love the product itself because it truely does brighten up my under eye area.
CHIFFON FOUNDATION in Natural - this is a powder foundation that I bought from Daiso Japan Home. It is very much affordable, it suits my skin tone very well, it makes my face matte through out the day, and it doesn't have a pungent smell. What more can I ask from this?
BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER - this is my favorite contour powder of all time. I also warm up my crease with this too. It is kinda pricey so I opt for a much affordable when I feel like it. Well it depends on where I'm going. Sometimes I use San San Single Eyeshadow in Warm Copper Fire or Deep Earth Brown to contour my face.
SEPHORA CREAM BLUSH in Rose Glow - I always use this since it gives me a naturally flushed cheeks. This one is pricey but I'm trying to finish it up since it is nearing it's expiration date.
REVLON FANTASY BROW in Brunette - This shade suits my hair color that is why I use this most of the time. Well, depends on where I'm going again. I love this since it is a 2-in1 product, it has the brow pencil and tinted brow gel. For alternative I use Fashion 21 Duo Eye Enhancer in Dark Copper and set my brows with Nichido Clear Brow Mascara.
San San HD Concealer in Beige - I don't really love this on my under eye so I used this to clean up my brows and it is best in highlighting my brow bone.
WET N WILD FERGIE BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY MASCARA - After I curl my lashes, I wiggle this on my lashes for a natural looking volumized lashes. It looks like falsies when I have it on since it volumizes, lengthens and lifts my lashes. It doesn't clump too!
MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS - it hydrates my lips and tints my lips with pink.
REVLON JUST BITTEN KISSABLE BALM STAIN in Honey - another mlbb. When I'm not using my mac fast play, I use this since it hydrates my lips at the same time and it has a minty sting to it.

That is about my daily makeup products. To be updated on my posts about #30daysofbeauty, follow me on Instagram @ixadevera. Thank you!

#30daysofbeauty Day 1: FAVOURITE LIPSTICK

I decided to the #30daysofbeauty in Instagram and I started last Sunday, February 21, 2014. On the first day it stated to post your favorite lipstick, so I posted this:

My favorite lipstick is the MAC Amplified Lipstick in Fast Play. It retails for PHP1,000 here in the Philippines but I bought it in Macau for about PHP700-PHP800. I don't buy MAC lipsticks in the local store since it is pricier here.

The reason why I love this:
  • It suits my skin tone
  • My lips but better lipstick
  • It hydrates my lips not like my other mac lipsticks that chap my lips
  • The longevity is alright
  • It smells like chocolate.
  • I have it for a year now and I'm still not half way done with it.
  • The packaging is sturdy and elegant
It is always in my makeup bag. When I can't decide which lipstick I should use for the day, I grab on to this, which makes it my go-to lipstick. I can't say nothing more about this product. I just love it so much.

San San Single Eyeshadow Review ♥

These are not new to the market but I still want to share with you my thoughts about San San's single eye shadows. I do not have all the shades but I have quite a few.
(Right to Left) Top: Deep Earth Brown, Pink Opal
Center: Purple Amethyst, Golden Chiffon, Charcoal Brown
Bottom: Warm Copper Fire, Cotton Candy Pink
The San San single eye shadows retails for PHP50 each, but I bought them for only PHP35 each during their anniversary sale. Watch out for their sale to avail this product with 10% off. As for the ingredients, it has Vitamins A, C and E, and it is Paraben-free. The weight of the product is not stated in its packaging but it has a lot of product for a single eyeshadow and for its price. In total, the single eyeshadows has 20 shades ranging from neautral tones to shimmery colorful shades.

I only have 7 shades with me and the next pictures will show you the swatches I made and my review for each color. I will be showing 2 swatches, the left is just one swipe of the product and the right side is a build up swatch. It is also captured with flash.

1. Cotton Candy Pink
This shade is too light pink. It comes of as shimmery white on swatches. But I love the shimmer of this and I use this to highlight my inner tear ducts and it makes my eyes look alive and awake.
It can be a dupe for Revlon Color Stay Eyeshadow in Light Pink.

2. Purple Amethyst
I don't know why they named this purple amethyst since amethyst is already purple and they're making it redundant. Anyway, this is not too pigmented that you need to build it up but it is a good color.

3. Pink Opal
I bought this for a reason that I thought it could double up as blush but this one is not as pigmented as I thought it would be. In the pan it looks like a strawberry color but swatching it, it is sheen and full on shimmers. Maybe that's the reason why they named it opal because it's like translucent. I am not a fan of this shade. I tried to swatch it in different base and it works in a red cream eyeshadow. I swatched it in a white base and it looks like the Cotton Candy Pink. Even though it is cheap, it is not worth it.

4. Golden Chiffon
I haven't used it in my lids but in the swatch it looks opaque and I really love gold eyeshadows. I will try this soon and I will update you about my thoughts on this one. But as for the swatch, I already love it.

5. Charcoal Brown
I tried swatching it side by side with my Naked 2 palette and it is somewhat alike with Busted. I haven't used this yet but I think this would be great for a dramatic smokey eye. This one is pigmented but it comes off a bit chalky that it may have a lot of fall outs.

6. Deep Earth Brown (matte)
I don't know if I got a bad batch but this one is in between a powder and a gel texture. As you can see on the picture above, it left a mark when I used my finger to swatch it. It is too chalky when I swatch it aand has a lot of fallout. A lot of YouTube Gurus are raving about this and they use this for their brows and nose contour but I find it slightly not that pigmented for the brows. I sometimes use this to contour my face and it has a great longevity.

7. Warm Copper Fire (matte)
Out of all the shades I bought, this one is my favorite. I use this to contour my face, nose and crease. This has a bit of orange tone to it but not as much as my Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I love the texture of this. It doesn't have any fallout and I don't have any complaints about this one.

 Side-by-side swatches:
*These are build up swatches
*natural light
*with flash
I fell in love with some of the shades and some didn't impress me at all but that doesn't stop me from buying other shades. It's very affordable anyway. I do recommend it but I am not raving about it. It's still personal thoughts and likings, and I encourage you to try it for yourself and see if you'll like it.

That's everything I have to say about the San San Single Eyeshadows. Hope you learned something. Thank you! ♥

Valentine's Day Makeup of the Day ♥

The day of love is an excuse to step up the game when it comes to makeup. Here I want to share with you what I did on myself on the day of love.

♥♥♥Face
I basically did my everyday face routine but I used foundation today since I need a little bit of coverage on my cheeks just to cover my veins.

  • Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser
  • Benefit Oxygen Wow Flawless Foundation in Champagne
  • Garnier BB Roll On
  • Saizen Chiffon Foundation in Natural
  • San San Single Eyeshadow in Deep Earth Brown *contour*
  • Wet 'n Wild Icon Blusher in Mellow Wine
♥♥♥Brows
This is the part where I spend most of the time when I'm doing my makeup because I want an almost perfectly crisp brows.
  • Revlon Fantasy Brow in Brunette
  • San San HD Concealer in Beige *clean up the edges and to highlight the brow bone*
♥♥♥Eyes
So I did a sloppy work on my eyeshadow since it's a bit too early to do a dramatic or a classy eye makeup. I just quickly defined my crease and added an iridescent shadow on the center of the lip to make my eyes pop. For some lift I coated my lashes with 2 of my favorite mascaras.
  • San San Single Eyeshadow in Cotton Candy Pink *lid*
  • San San Single Eyeshadow in Warm Copper Fire *crease*
  • Benefit They're Real Mascara
  • Wet 'n Wild Fergie Centerstage Big Girls Don't Cry Mascara
♥♥♥Lips
I experimented today and tried out the ombre lips. What I did is a brighter color on the inside and a pale pink on the corners of my lips
  • Maybelline Baby Lips *moisturize my chapped lips*
  • MAC Matte Lipstick in Please Me *outer edges*
  • NYX Round Lipstick in Fire *inner part*
♥♥♥Hair
I styled my hair today! I was aiming for a beachy waves but my hair has a mind of its own so it looked like a messy bed hair.
  • Tresseme Keratin Heat Protectant Spray
  • Revlon Curl Ceramic Wand
♥♥♥OOTD

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY Beautiful People! Stay pretty inside and out. ♥

I Did My Mom's Makeup! ♥

I finally did my mom’s makeup and it’s the second time around because I already did a trial makeup on her which I posted on my Instagram account @ixadevera. Here is what I did on the trial makeup without editing and without any filters.

The foundation was too light on her since it’s not her shade so we bought another one that’s suits her skin tone.

She attended her company’s awards night and here’s the makeup I did on her:
*Natural Light
*With Flash

At our trial makeup I did a more dramatic eye but she and my dad didn't like a dramatic one so I did a more subtle smokey eye on the day itself. I altered the look a lot since I used different products.

Here is the list of products I used on her:

♥Face♥

  • Benefit Porefessional
  • Revlon Photoready Liquid Foundation in Medium Beige
  • Fashion 21 Loose Powder in #1
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer
  • Wet ‘n Wild Blusher in Mellow Wine

♥Brows♥

  • Revlon Fantasy Brow in Brunette
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics (Faint)

♥Eyes♥

  • Wet ‘n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Eye Primer
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics (Base: W.O.S.; Crease: Faint; Lid: Venus)
  • Urban Decay Naked 2 (Outer V: Pistol; Center of the lid: Verve)
  • San San Gel Eyeliner in Black
  • Benefit They’re Real Mascara

♥Lips♥

  • NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Hot Red
  • Wet ‘n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Red Velvet

I was amazed with the eye primer since her eye makeup lasts up to 8 hours and didn’t crease even though she has an oily lid. Also, the foundation holds on her oily skin. Almost everything that I put on her stays up to the end of the night.

I failed to take a before picture but here are some of the pictures I took after I glam her up.

If you want me to do your makeup, please email me at eliciadevera@gmail.com for inquiries. Thank you!

Today's Haul (Revlon, Only at Watsons and Ponds) ♥

Hello beautiful people! Since I already have a lot of haul videos on my channel, today I'll blog about what I bought today from Watson's. This isn't bragging, by the way. :)

Roaming around Watson's I saw some products that I didn't know about. Did you know that Revlon offers a brow pencil and gel? Are you aware that Watson's offer Pond's BB Cream with a free beauty sponge? They also have buy one get one free products as well.

First thing that I looked for is the Revlon Whipped Foundation. Looking and swatching the product, they are too light for my mom's skin tone. We were about to buy that one because I heard that it is good for oily skin and cream foundations are for skin with large pores. But then again they are too light so we picked out other foundation from the brand. We, then picked out Revlon Photoready Foundation for it is good for night events. The shade that we got is Natural Beige, the darkest one. I will be doing my mom's makeup for their event, by the way, and I will be blogging about that.

Since I have a coupon, that I got from my BDJ Power Planner, of PHP500 off for a purchase of PHP1,500 of Revlon Products so we got another product. I saw that Revlon offers a tinted brow gel so we opted for that. I got the one in Brunette. I will be reviewing that on my YouTube Channel, watch out for that. :) Revlon also have a freebie of a makeup bag (as seen in the picture below).

The Revlon Photoready costs PHP925 and the Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel costs PHP575, with a total of PHP1,500. Plus the coupon, so we only payed PHP1,000 for both.

We also bought the Pond's BB cream with a free beauty sponge that looks like the real Beauty Blender. It costs PHP299. It is a great deal since beauty sponges costs around PHP120-200. It's like spending for a single product but you got both! Then I bought myself a round brush that only cost PHP99.75 and when you buy 2, the second one has 15% off. So we bought 2 for me and my sister. Also, I got the facial massager from Marionnaud, which costs PHP99. This will help further clean the pores.

That is everything that we bought today at Watson's. Hope you enjoyed reading. Have a great day! ♥
